Here we will be visiting Burton on the water (Bourton in the water is well-known as 'the Venice of the Cotswolds' due to the five low footbridges, which cross the River Windrush as it flows alongide Bourton's High Street. Burford's famous High Street sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush, its three-arched medieval bridge and its impressive church, both sides of the street flanked by an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops.
